Hi everyone my name is Nick Thompson, thank you for finding me. I was drawn to bodywork over the course of many years, developing a fascination for the human body. What they are capable of, how resilient they are, and how we animate this structure of muscle and bones to flow through life on our constant journey of seeking the things that give us meaning, purpose and joy. As we navigate this existence of ups and downs, our ability to cope often reflects the relationship we've built with this temporary vessel we inhabit. As we grow older- working, raising families, and stepping into the many roles life asks of us, we may consciously or unconsciously store physical, emotional and mental tension in our muscles, fascia, organs and tissues. Bodywork is one of many ways that can support healing, maintaining health and vitality as we strive to age gracefully.
I was asked how I got into this and after stumbling through an answer had to go back later, piecing together how I ended up in Seattle doing bodywork. I was born and raised in Minnesota, where I spent the first thirty years of my life whenever possible outdoors- fishing, hunting, hiking, biking and exploring. After high school I attended a trade school for carpentry and cabinetmaking and spent twelve years building and remodeling homes for an amazing company. A shift started drawing me to learn about the human body and find a path where I could make a career in it. While visiting family here in the west I enrolled at a school in the Seattle area to learn reflexology and a few years later a school for massage therapy. The journey of moving and changing careers has been filled with great memories, not only being amidst the beauty of the Pacific Northwest but the excitement of new experiences and meeting amazing people along the way. I am forever grateful that I found bodywork, or that it found me. My passion lies in helping alleviate stress and pain by addressing physical and energetic blockages in the body. Using a combination of massage, cupping, aromatherapy and reflexology my intentions are to restore balance and assist the body in its own healing process. I am excited to be a lifetime student, learning as much as I can along the way to provide greater support. Simply I want people that come to see me have a body with less pain and in a more relaxed state after a session so they can go back out in the world and do what they love as well.
